The rules are below.
Special points to note are in red.

AIM

  • The aim of the competition is to provide a visual and written record of a Detachment from year to year.

GUIDANCE

  • The archive MUST be presented in hard-copy format.

  • It MUST include written articles, observations and reflections from cadets.

  • Consider including newspaper cuttings, nominal roll, promotions, programmes and forecasts of events, letters of invitation and thanks, joining instructions, copies of certificates - the list is not exhaustive.

  • Photographs do not need to have been taken by cadets but the source / photographer MUST be stated.

  • Extracts from the SACF website, Det and Coy newsletters, 'Suffolk Cadet', the 'Castle Magazine', the Suffolk Section of the 'Britannia and Castle', 'Army Cadet' and newspapers, relevant to the detachment, could be included. The source / photographer MUST be stated.

  • Badges, cartoons, illustrations and medals could be incorporated.

  • In addition to recording a year in the life of a Detachment, the albums will, collectively, act as an historical archive for Companies and Suffolk County ACF.

  • It follows, therefore, that accurate recording of ranks, first names and surnames, dates and places is most important.

  • Finally, the competition MUST always remain fun!
