Congratulations to our County Sports Officer, SMI Ralph Bianco, on his award by Beccles Town Council, of the 'Robert Elwood Memorial Plate', as 'Citizen of the Year'. He was nominated by SACF County RSM Alan Barnard, below right on the left.
Robert Elwood was a Beccles Councillor for 28 years and Mayor 4 times. He was highly regarded and the plate is awarded annually in his memory.
Ralph joined Suffolk ACF as a Cadet in 1961 then became an Adult Instructor in 1976 after Regular Army service as a Junior Leader with 2 Royal Tank Regt.
John Symonds served for a short time with 4th Bn The Royal Norfolk Regt, playing in the Band with John Housego (later Major and OC CNA Bty Norfolk ACF) before the Bn was disbanded in the late 1960s. He then joined the ACF.
