Suffolk Army Cadet Force
Regional First Aid Competition, Waterbeach
26 Jun 2005

The Suffolk ACF First Aid Team competed at the Regional competition held at the Cambridge WETC, Waterbeach, Cambridge.

The team were Cpls John Havelock and Jess Holland, LCpl Mitch Lambert and Cdt Matt Dickerson.

The first task for the cadets was a team event. They had to deal with two casualties. Jess dealt with a broken jaw and stab wound, John dealt with a wound to the head and a broken collar bone. This activity was overseen by team leader Mitch who took notes and called for an ambulance. They scored 80/120.

The second task was individual treatment of a casualty with Jess scoring 27/40.

The third task set for the cadets was to diagnose a diabetic and an asthmatic, with Matt scoring 27/30.

The final task was another team event where they dealt with a Road Traffic Accident where a motorbike rider and a pillion hit a pedestrian.
They scored 80/100 which won the team a bronze medal.

We came home this year with 4 bronze medals as a team and a silver medal for Matt for the individual reserve.

I must say what great teamwork from the 4 cadets, as we came home last year with only one medal. Well done the team!
