Eastern Region Tug of War Championships May 2005

In a thrilling competition between the 4 girls teams, at the end of the heats, 3 counties tied with 4 points each:
Leicestershire & Northamptonshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. After a draw, Norfolk and Suffolk went into the final in the main arena.
In the best of 3 pulls, the Suffolk ACF Girls won 2 and were declared 2005 Regional Champions.
The Suffolk ACF Boys Team, a largely new squad where most had done little or no training, came a commendable 4th.

Alicia Crewe, Rebecca Ford, Katie Hinton - Ipswich Kesgrave PARA;
Kelsey Coyne - Ipswich Queen's Royal Lancers
Peter Cook, Chad Hervey and Sam Ling - Ipswich, Royal Tank Regt;
Reece Johnston and Jamie Lee - Lowestoft Queen's Dragoon Guards;
Robert Addison, Laura Day, Ali McLaren, Karen Rose - Stowmarket Royal Anglian;
S Powell - Sudbury Royal Artillery;
Lindsey Rumbell - Wattisham Army Air Corps.

Eastern Region thank Lt Col Tug Lawson Leicestershire & Northamptonshire ACF for organising the competition,
SI Mick Skinner Humberside and South Yorkshire ACF for refereeing and
Col Keith Cockman, Regional Sports Chairman, for his encouragement and presentation of the prizes.

Special thanks go to the Suffolk ACF Adult Leaders who accompanied / coached the teams and /or drove the minibuses,
