BECCLES TOP GUNS

This is the text and photograph submitted by CSM Mark Galley:
Army Cadets from Beccles proved to be too hot to handle after winning the new inter-detachment shooting competition held at Lowestoft TA Centre. The competition organised by Captain Brian Lawn allowed all 7 Detachments from B-Company to shoot against each other, The Teams of four Cadets from Beccles, Bungay, Halesworth, Leiston, Southwold and Lowestoft all had to fire the Enfield No8 Bolt Action Rifle from 25meters unsupported at 10 targets.
Captain Lawn, the Company Shooting Officer, thought of the Competition. He said: 'I wanted to give all the cadets the chance to enter the spirit of the sport of target shooting it is an excellent sport and the competition proved to be a big success. The scores were extremely close with Beccles only just winning.'
The Trophy was presented to the team captain of Beccles Detachment Sgt Sam Faulkner (17) at the recent Company Dinner Night.
