JULIE'S REWARD

Adult Leader Sergeant Julie
Cooke from Beccles Army Cadets has just
been awarded the Permanent Staff Trophy for her
outstanding help.
Although every helper in the ACF deserves an award for all
their hard work and time that they give to help the cadets
achieve success, Julie was the first to receive the new
award, presented by Captain Les Jackson at a recent dinner
night.
The Trophy is for all Instructors below the rank of
Sergeant Major and is awarded to someone who, in the eyes
of the permanent staff, has helped out beyond the call of
duty.
Captain Les Jackson
who is the instigator of the award said: ‘ I thought of
this award because a lot of hard work goes on behind the
scenes with the helpers not receiving any credit and it’s
a nice gesture to give some appreciation back to them.
Julie has done a lot of work over the last year including
collecting and returning transport from Ipswich for
weekends, doing various stores and weapons duties.
Whenever I ask she is only to pleased to help while also
doing her own job and giving time up on a Tuesday and
Thursday night. She deserves to win my award.’
Sergeant Instructor Julie Cooke, who has been involved
with the Beccles Army Cadets for over 10 years, works as a
manager at McDonalds and was over the moon to receive the
award.
She explained: ‘This award means a lot to me but helping
out and seeing the rewards on the cadets faces is all the
thanks I want. Its marvellous to be recognised but a lot
of credit must go to all the helpers in the Army Cadets as
it’s a great team effort.’
The Army Cadet force are looking for new helpers, if you
can make a difference and can spare some time call 01502
516768 and ask for Captain Les Jackson. No military
experience is necessary.
