LORD LIEUTENANT PRESENTS AWARDS TO SUFFOLK RESERVISTS AND CADETS - MAR 06

The Right Honourable Lord Tollemache, HM Lord Lieutenant for Suffolk, presented awards to members of Suffolk Reserve Forces and Cadets at the Yarmouth Road TA Centre in Ipswich.
He presented Certificates of Meritorious Service to Sgt Robert Aldridge, 45 (Essex) Signal Sqn (V); LCpl Karl Boak, 202 (Ipswich) Transport Sqn, RLC (V); Flt Lt Janet Brown, 1334 (Manningtree) Sqn, Air Training Corps; SSI Roger Hemp, Southwold (Army Air Corps) Det, Suffolk ACF; Petty Officer Philip Lark, Lowestoft Sea Cadets; WO2 Christopher Poole, 202 (Ipswich) Transport Sqn, Royal Logistic Corps (V) and SSgt Mark Warren, 202 (Ipswich) Transport Sqn, RLC (V).
Of particular note were Petty Officer Philip Lark and Lance Corporal Karl Boak who both suffered injury in accidents but continued to serve, displaying the highest standards of service to others.
Selected from members of the Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadets, Combined Cadet Force and the Air Training Corps, who have achieved exceptional results in training proficiency, bearing and turnout, he appointed as Lord Lieutenant's Cadets for 2006: Leading Cdt Byron Banthorpe, 16, Ipswich Sea Cadet Corps; Cdt WO Eric Clark, 19, 1379 (Leiston) Sqn, Air Training Corps; Cdt Cpl Storm Rae, 17, Framlingham College Combined Cadet Force (and also an Army Cadet at Woodbridge Detachment, Suffolk ACF) and Cdt Sgt Frankie Rush, 17, Southwold Det, Suffolk ACF.
They accompany the Lord Lieutenant at appropriate ceremonial occasions, a much sought after honour.
Two Suffolk ACF SSIs from County HQ, Ipswich, Christine Forsdike and Phil Hubert were presented with their Cadet Medals, awarded for 12 years of exemplary service.
The Lord Lieutenant congratulated the recipients of the awards and had a special word of praise and thanks to their families. After the ceremony, the recipients and their families stayed for lunch at the Yarmouth Road TA Centre.
