Maj John L Raybould TD, reports :

The past months have been a period of success. Spirits are high.
Events
In March 2006, a most successful Officers’ Training Weekend included a Dinner at the Joint Norfolk/Suffolk Weekend Training Centre in Thetford. We were honoured with the presence of HM Lord Lieutenant for Suffolk, The Lord Tollemache.

Teams of 8 cadets contested the annual SACF inter-coy Colonel's Cup Competition at Stradishall to select the SACF Team for the Brigade 'Combat Cadet' Competition in April. There were 3 elements: Phase 1 - Military Skills Stands; Phase 2 - Night Navigation Exercise; Ph 3 - A 2.3 km speed march with kit and rifle.
The B Coy Team from Beccles, Bungay and Lowestoft RA were the winners.

Under Command of Capt Cathy Bradshaw and Lt Steve Rhind, the usual successful Adventurous Training Wales at Easter was held in Wales.
Steve
, our County D of E and Adventurous Training Officer has been selected to join the ACF Expedition to climb Mt Kenya in 2007.

In the ‘Suffolk Spring Clean’ the Sudbury Det hit the press with a report of their collecting bags of rubbish.

A new initiative for 2006 is the hosting of a evening Reception at County HQ, Ipswich TAC, on Sat 24 Jun 06, where there will be a Guard of Honour, Stands and Exhibitions manned by Adults and Cadets.

Our County Executive Offr, Maj Bob Potter MBE (former Viking, Tiger and Pompadour) is undertaking a sponsored London to Paris cycle ride in Sep 06 in aid of the Royal British Legion. The 200 cyclists will cover 280 miles in 3 legs: the 1st to Dover then 2 in France. At the conclusion they will be escorted up the Champs Elysees. (It was Bob who questioned the writer in 2005 concerning his parachute jump: ‘'Did the doc also test for brain failure?'’)
