© Maj John L Raybould TDThe Beast is back - after 5 months 'in-dock'. The SACF Webmaster's 1962 race-spec Austin Healey 3000 returned to Suffolk in Oct after major repairs. It has been a sad summer without my and my wife of 40 years, Janine, feeling the 'Wind in our hair'!
A free 'fast ride (in daylight and dry weather only) {J9 was once clocked at 124ph and at 101 db before 'running out of road'} is offered to the 1st SACF Cadet who can state the 1st name of the originator of the 'Healey' marque.
Ah, it was 'The Beast' J9 which clocked 124 mph - not my long suffering wife Janine - aka J9 - hence the roundel !
Wife J9s decibel level when I have offended is 'Classified' !
Send me Major John L Raybould TD your rank, 1st name and surname plus home address and tel no and a suitable date. Ear defenders are essential !
For SI Libby Stoppard - your promised free drive is in place. Suggest the 08 Camp 'Briefing w/e at WETC Croxton (?) in 2008'.  Do remind me, nearer the time, to arrive in 'The Beast !' Ensure your ear defenders are packed !

3 antique plastic covered 'Aide Memoire' to the 1st SACF Cadet who can state for how many years and months our former SACF QM, Capt John Catt, served in uniform.
Send me a 4 line e-mail with 'Freebie Aide Memoire 2007' as the subject, stating :
your first name and surname on line 1, your SACF Det on line 2, the answer on line 3 and your 2 preferences of Aide Memoire on line 4.
(Choose 2 of the following: '1972 Helicopter', '1979 Infantry' and '1980 Battle Group'.)
Read the rules (above) again before you reply and get disqualified !

Sorry, previous 'Freebie' winners are ineligible to apply.
The runner-up will receive the 'Aide Memoire' not selected by the winner.

to:
  • All those who made the Officers' Mess Dinner at the WETC, Thetford, on Sat 3 Feb, such a success.

It avoided the proverbial 'Interview without coffee' with the Commander of 49 Bde !
